 FAQs

  • I use Sony camera bodies and a mix of Sony and Sigma lenses.

    Currently I use a Sony A9 as well as a Sony A1.

My most commonly used lenses are the Sony 70-200mm f2.8 GM II, Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II, and Sigma 50mm f1.4 DG DN.

    • The only time I use AI is for dedicated portrait photos where there is something in the background that was unavoidable. For example, an official team photo in a pool but there is signage on the wall be hind the team that is distracting. In that case I might use AI to remove the sign.

    • I never use AI to remove objects from photos taken during events like sport competitions.

    • I do not touch up portraits (i.e. remove blemishes, etc) unless it is specifically requested from the client. Even in that situation I use it as little as possible.

    • My editing process typically adjusts color, contrast, tones, exposure, and noise reduction (for very low light event photography)

  • Maybe is the short answer.

The longer answer is that I do not generally do high school senior photos (i.e. student dressed nicely standing in a wheat field). There are lots of photographers that earn a living doing these types of pictures and can make a few recommendations.

I will, however consider a client that wants a portrait that highlights an important aspect of their lives such as sports, hobbies, etc.

  • No, I do not currently shoot weddings as the primary photographer.

I will consider acting as a “second shooter” for a photographer if they need extra help at wedding though.

  • No.

While my equipment is certainly capable of creating beautiful videos, it is not my focus area. I am dedicated to the unique challenges that story telling using only still imagery brings.

  • No, this is not my full time job.

I am a chemical engineer by education but have worked in chemical sales for the past 20+ years. Currently I am a global account mangager for a company that produces ingredients for personal care products. This job affords me the ability to travel to lots of interesting places like India, South Africa, Turkey, France, and the Netherlands. I try to bring my camera whenever I can on those trips.
